Aarhus Airport
The Aarhus Airport is located in northeast Jutland (Denmark’s main land mass) and is situated 36km from the city of Aarhus. One passenger terminal handles about 650,000 passengers per year and operates flights to both domestic and European destinations, with about 100 destinations served in total. The airport has an overall annual capacity for two million travellers and is also close to Feldballe, Horstved, Krarup, Stabrand and Tirstrup.
Arhus Airport features three main airlines, including Denmark’s very own Sun Air of Scandinavia. Daily direct flights operate between 06:00 and 22:00, flying to Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and London, from where passengers can connect to other foreign destinations.
Transportation to the airport from Aarhus:
- By taxi: There are taxis traveling to the city available from outside the terminal building. The fare is around 300 DKK (€ 41) and takes ca. 30 minutes.
- By bus: There is an airport bus service that takes passengers from the airport to Aarhus and back, the service is available 24 hours a day. Also, route 212 between Ebeltoft and Randers stops at the airport.
- By car: There are several options available to travelers arriving and leaving the airport: car; bus; and taxi services.
The airport’s two car parks, P1 and P2, contain more than 1,000 spaces for vehicles. Short-term parking in P1 costs €0.80 per hour, €8 per day and €32 per week. Car park P2, which is slightly farther from the terminal, is designed for long-term parking. There, rates are €0.67 per hour, €6.70 per day and €23.50 per week.
Essential facilities include a bureau De change and several ATMs. The airport’s Euroshop sells duty-free spirits and tobacco products, plus an extensive selection of regular goods including cosmetics and fragrances; beer, wine and spirits; chocolate and confectionery; toys and gifts; Christmas ornaments; and porcelains from Royal Copenhagen. A café offers light meals and drinks. For business travellers, meeting rooms accommodating up to 50 persons can be reserved by telephoning the business centre. Wireless Internet access is available at the airport as well.
