Helsingor

Helsingor – that’s how was mentioned  he city of Helsingor in 1231 in the ancient book of Viktoriusa (most likely, his name of the reporter doing records). Sceptics, however, believe that the reporter could confuse Helsingor with the Swedish city of Helsingsom (Helsings) so and it is necessary to concern this date with a fair share of doubt. They say that here in the Middle Ages there was a market where sold women, and it really existed, but there are few  mentions of that.

Names of the Danish city of Helsingor, lying through passage Eresunn (Oresund) nowadays Swedish Helsinborga have occurred from a word «Hals» that in transfer means «narrow passage». Both cities stand on the parties of this passage, and there is no time, when both coast were Danish, in Helsinborge there was a fort, and in Helsingore – the strengthened place of disembarkation and an unloading from courts passing on passage. Nowadays between them there is a regular ferry communication –there ia dissecting passage there-here.
