Denmark Attractions

One of the most important attractions of Denmark are Danes themselves, their hospitality and humour. Danes live at the crossroads of the Scandinavian, European and Baltic cultures. It has helped them to be opened both in sense of borders, and for outside influences. A key to the Danish heart is the word “hyggie” that means a combination of warmth, good state of health and intimacy.
Another attraction of Denmark is the capitalĀ  – Copenhagen. The capital of Denmark is well-known for the numerous spikes, towers and bell-towers. Amalienborg (XVIII century) can be mentioned: four identical buildings are located against each other and in the center rises the graceful horse monument of Federik V.

Nearby there is a well-known Marble cathedral. Its dome in diameter of 30 m, is very similar to St. Peter’s Cathedral dome in Rome.
The most picturesque area of Copenhagen – Njuhavn (New Harbour). This favourite place of artists, photographers, writers, journalists and tourists.

The water-nymph

The greatest city square – Kongens-Njutorv (New Royal). Here many sights are located. For example, Academy of Arts with the showrooms, placed in the former royal residence Sharlottenborg. The royal theater based in 1722

The parliament of Denmark sits at a palace of Kristiansborg (XVIII century). Nearby there is a National library, a royal museum Arsenal with collections of ancient clothes, carriages and fire-arms. Nearby from channel Njuhavn the National museum and art gallery Glipoteka are located. Besides, in this city there is a unique zoo with 2 thousand kinds of animals. On port quay it is possible to see the well-known sculpture of the Water-nymph.

In Alborge there is the largest burial place of Vikings: a cathedral and a monastery. Here there are buildings in style of Renaissance.

Arhus, Esberg and Fano are rich with historical sights and have set of fine beaches.
Odense it is well-known as the birthplace of famous storyteller Hans Christians Andersen. Annually in July-August his name festivals are held. Visitors can see Andersen’s museum and the house where he lived in the childhood. The attractions in Denmark are innumerable each having its unique charm.
Denmark is a country where you will see set of modern cities and a cosy province, majestic medieval castles and ancient rural churches, parks with attractions and harmless silent windmills producing energy, gulfs and stick woods.
